Coco

Coco is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu with a sensitive soul who is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can truly feel safe. He can be quite fearful of unfamiliar people and needs time and patience to build trust at his own pace. Because of this, Coco would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with no children.

Coco values having control over his environment, so a home that offers both indoor and outdoor access is important. This allows him to move away and decompress whenever he feels overwhelmed. He is not comfortable being handled by people he doesn’t know, and if pushed beyond his comfort zone, he may attempt to bite. Respecting his boundaries and allowing him to approach on his own terms will be key to helping him thrive.

Once Coco forms a bond, his true personality shines through—he is affectionate, playful, and full of charm. He loves food (which can be a great motivator for training!) and will happily jump up onto his person’s lap for some extra love and attention.

Coco will need regular grooming to keep his coat in good condition, and ongoing care with a vet who is experienced in fear-free handling will be essential to ensure his comfort and wellbeing.

With patience, consistency, and a gentle approach, Coco has so much love to give and will make a deeply rewarding companion for the right home.
