As Sydney's only charity pound and community facility for almost 80 years, we open our doors to thousands of pets each year, providing shelter, food, vet care and lots of love and cuddles to lost, homeless and abandoned animals while they wait to find their special furever friend.
Striving to rehabilitate and rehome every healthy and treatable animal that comes through our doors, no matter how long it takes, we NEVER place a time limit on any rehomable animal awaiting adoption. We’re there through thick and thin… when no one else can be.
We love what we do, but we can't do it alone. Caring for pets in need takes a lot of resources. From simple daily needs such as food, bedding, treats and toys, to medications, operations and training with our Pawsitive Behavioural Consultants. They all come at a cost.
Donate today to keep our doors open and best friends' tails wagging.

I heard them say I had the worst skin disease that the Head Vet had ever seen.
Covered in fleas, my skin was infected, thickened and red. It was so itchy to the point I was losing all my fur.
All of this pain didn’t match the feeling of knowing I’d been neglected… That stuff takes a lot longer to heal. But from the moment staff welcomed me into the Home, I knew I was safe. They quickly started treating my skin, put me on medications, and gave me healthy food, supplements and a whole lot of TLC. They even found me a loving foster carer who looked after me until I found my furever home.
Something bad happened to me when I was little, which no one to this day really knows. The trauma from the injury made me pretty scared, but today I’m like a totally different kitty.
Getting surgery in the Home, they also connected me with the best foster carer who has treated my injuries, changed my bandages and continued taking me into the Home for regular check-ups.
I feel so loved, and I guess it shows. I’m hopeful of one day finding my furever home. But in the meantime, I know that people care.
I must admit, I was really struggling when I came into the Home - pretty overweight, the friendly humans said I had severe arthritis that was putting a lot of stress on my body.
But these people were the best. Quickly admitting me into their vet hospital, the team put me on pain relief and a controlled nutritional plan. I also had an anaesthetic and a series of radiographs to treat a cruciate rupture. They even found me my own special friends who are giving me lots of love, cuddles and care as I continue to lose weight.
Thanks for helping pets like me!
